Poor reviews.
Thank you!
Hi Chris. Still watching your videos over and over lol.. I plan to purchase an electric conversion kit for my rc8b4.1 just for kicks and to keep me busy... Any thoughts as kit is only an ebay seller. Will nitro chasis and side guard work among other things?
Sorry i have been traveling. You would need an electric chassis, motor mounts battery tray, diff plate and servo mount rx box. Front and rear clips are identical as well as steering. Still might be more economical to buy a used ebuggy slider.
Nitro body and nitro sideguards will bolt to the electric chassis it will just be wider.
Hm. One part of it seems to be missing. Is it .21 or .28?
You would want to use a .21
Looking at getting one of these. Im 225lbs. Will this be too small for my size?
Should be fine
Hey, this isn’t a terrible unboxing. Honestly in my opinion this is the kind of unboxings that’s the best. I love the commentary and information you give while at the same time keeping me interested. Love it
Sorry but it's me again.. What flywheel collet did you use? The one that came with the kit seems to be too tight for the O.S. engine.. Do I have to spread the collet apart?
Mine fit just fine, kit clutch. Make sure you put the nut in the clutch housing before you install the clutch springs.
@@SuperFastRc Weird that mine does not fit as it does not slide in.. What's your suggestion? .. You mean the flywheel nut prior to installing metal and composite clutches?
@@MrDucatiti collet goes on the crank shaft, then the clutch and flywheel assembly. Then your flywheel nut.
Stock should fit perfectly, im running exclusively os
@@SuperFastRc Lifesaver lol.. Any specific reason why the nut on the housing has to go first prior to the clutch springs? Also, did you use a flywheel tool for the nut or just the conventional wrench wrapped with electric tape?
Hi Chris! I’m on the engine now. Did you twist the tubing inlet where the high speed needle is? If so, what is the procedure as I don’t want to mess up anything to include any settings.
Yes, you just slightly loosen the brass fitting around the high speed needle then pivot to desired location and snug it back up no settings will be changed.
@@SuperFastRc Got... Mind sharing what specific tool you used, or simply a long nose pliers?
@@MrDucatiti 8mm turnbuckle wrench is what i used
If I’m getting a used one will I be able to change it to my name?
Yes, it all resides with your race director. They will tie your name to the identifier.
Hi again! I'm almost done.. working on radio tray now and have the same servos as you are using. Now just waiting for M7 radio and receiver to come.. Now super dumb question considering the savox monster wires are all black, how does it go in the Sanwa receiver? Will I fry anything if plug it in the wrong way? Also, where does the power switch plug in the receiver? Sorry again as it has been more thant a decade since my last RC.
Once you have your radio system in it will all make sense. They are kinda slotted so they can only go in one way. Also some servo connectors are labeled. Battery plugs in to the Batt channel. The transponder plugs into channel 3.
@@SuperFastRc Thank you. This helps a lot. Looking forward to more videos! :)
@@SuperFastRc Thanks again Chris.. Another related question. My Sanwa M17 comes with the RX-493 receiver. Is there a need to stick the antenna out of the receiver box or OK just to leave intact sealed in the box? Sorry for another noob question :)
@@SuperFastRc Help please.. Battery channel is the same as bind plug on the rx 593... lol. Now when the bind plug is in, where do I plug the battery/switch?
@@MrDucatiti you can plug the battery into channel 3 for binding.
First off, that track is awesome. It looks like a blast. How do you like the 2200 kv motor? I'm making the jump to the bigger motor this weekend and am looking forward to trying it out. Are you still using your trailer? If so, you should post an updated video showing what you have done to it.
I love it, yes i really should do a trailer tour. Typically I bring it to the track when its a longer series race or a weekend race. I still travel lighter for club racing.
Hello! Thanks for your videos. New subscriber here, and jus purchased this kit. I started building over the weekend. I have a problem and need your help. Sorry no pro here as this is the only 2nd kit I've ever built, having the Tamiya Hotshot as the first lol.. Well, problem is that the set screw that keeps the bottom shock in place keeps on turning and won't go all the way in to lock the shock in. Not sure if the suspension arm hole is compromised or the set screw itself. Only one out of three is the problem.. Any ideas of how to get this fixed?
So when the set screw is flush with the too of the arm you stop turning. Its probably compromised now. You could try contacting associated and see if they will send you another one or just buy another set of arms. No i wouldn’t run it like that loose. Thanks for sub!
What sucks about this hobby is only pros get to practice every day..us normies get to race only when the track is available to us.. if we to got to drive 6 hrs a day testing we'd be better driver's..
Thanks for the info.
Hopefully saved you some trouble
Is a £100 worth buying second hand for this buggy?
Yep, parts are plentiful
Hello.. New subcriber here and been watching your videos over and over.. lol.. Trying to checkout at Amain with my wishlists as we speak.. What shade of blue was used here? Tamiya dark metalic blue?
CREATEX COLORS W30402 WICKED COLOR PEARL BLUE
great info
Pagani collection? :)
Ah you caught my watch lol!
Nice Batgirl! :)
Thats awsome ! I was just out at the track last weekend ! I got to marshall a good bit !
Awesome! Yes sir, I was not able to make the first round of the summer series. Plan on being there for round 2 and maybe club racing this Saturday!
I used to race my HPI savage wayyy back when RCHQ was toys for big boys. when the nitro savage had just come out. Im workin on getting back into racing now that i found out oates has his track close !
@@txmanjr Nice! I raced at RCHQ a few times. And it seems like the fun has just moved to oates. Same crew - bigger track.
That was interesting to hear about! I'm not quite at that level of knowledge myself, and I definitely am not a race buggy proper race guy... I have a 2500kV motor in my MP10e and of course it's crazy fast, so I mostly use a 3s pack in it, just a small one, so I don't even bother put anything in the other battery compartment. I just drive it on the street and in the dirt anyway, last year I went to the track and I hated it, mostly because it's difficult, ha ha!
I switched to the 2200kv running a 16t pinion and the metal 47t spur with the punch turned down. I love the feel of the 2200 after the front bearing in the 1900 locked up :(
I have a performa 2100kv truggy if needed.. but run the HW 1900kv..
I found the LTC diffs make my car squirly and burns up fluid causes it to diff out I use HTC across board and went 2.3 bar front 2.4 rear 7k 6k 4K
I run that same HW 2200 but I dropped from 16 to 15 pinion not sure it was needed but that’s what I did and seems to work good for me
Gonna get the orange one this weekend :) I also have 2 stampedes 2wd from 2012
Thanks for showing this.
Have a question. Sorry it’s about something else but I know you have some factory connections. The new 4.1 comes with LTC & HTC gears. I see some set ups using all htc gears. Can you give me some insight on running all HTC gears vs LTC,htc,LTC.
I actually have a video on the subject: HTC vs LTC differential gears EXPLAINED! Team Associated RC8 Platform ua-cam.com/video/WR-xw6H2UYE/v-deo.html
Quick question. Have you made any adjustments to your rear shocks, since the front and rear are all the same lengths? I saw the following video and was curious as to your thoughts, if you don't mind me asking here. Thanks in advance for your time and willingness to reflect. ua-cam.com/video/j7iqoc4Xhng/v-deo.html
Nah, truck was sold shortly after this video - just not that exciting of a platform for me. I have since picked up a new stampede 4x4 vxl and it is a much more enjoyable truck
i no its 2 years old but i run 70wt front and 80wt on rear and its like night and day diffrence on my maxx v2
At what stage do you clean the primer pocket? Thanks.
So i use a wet tumbler, it basically cleans the brass inside and out.
Do you know if you can run the 4.1 shocktowers on the b4 with out changing the shock bodies ?
No you will need the 4.1 shock package to run the 4.1 towers. The B4 shocks are too long.
Is that the new 2024 Stampede heavy duty?
Yes it is!
I’m hearing a slight resemblance to the 1st gen slash in terms of the way the transmission sounds.
Lol, this was way before the slash, but same transmission
@@SuperFastRc i even hear it as well in the vintage stampedes. It would be interesting to imagine what the slash would’ve been like if it had been released much earlier in the mid 1990’s
Just built mine up and noticed the front diff clicking when braking hard. Seems to be a lot of play forward and back on the diff in the casing as if the bearings are too small for the diff case. This is causing the diff to slip on the drive gear. Shims are fine as there’s no side to side movement. Its a bit disappointing, Is this normal or have a I got a faulty car?
I think its a flex thing, mine does it too. No matter how tight I shim. I just got a set of the stiff carbon gearboxes in to try. Hopefully they flex less and the teeth don’t skip.
@@SuperFastRc oh nice do you have a link to this part?

Migliore la sparko f8e
I swear they designed these kits in the same place but slap different brands on them.
Lol, everything is so similar at this point, maybe ae should come out with a pivot ball 1/10 to match their 1/8
All that blue, why? Looks like my 22x-4 elite...
Because its the AE version! If it were the tlr it would be gold and black
Horrible video…..
Trash review. Thought we'd be doing electrical testing. Not just "Zee batteries have already done me good"😊
Can I leave attached and forget about it in a hot rod I hardly use
Yes
Yeah why fast forward the installation? That's what I typed in and this came up, smh...
Have you noticed yet how fast the motor gets hot , ten maybe fifteen minutes too hot
Hmm have not noticed, it seems fine to me
I put a powerhobby clip on fan on my motor before even running it. Powerhobby clip on the fan with heat sink and two fans. It was Ike $12 at the LHS
Are you running the lrc rear blocks?
Nope HRC D block. I have tested the schelle C block with truggy but have found that the HRC block works best for me.
Will the extra .2 hurt the esc since it's not a 7.4?
Nope not at all
At least it's $420 like the Hoss was, but with HD kit installed and thicker driveshafts. So in the Traxxas world, it's a better deal than the Hoss was for the same price. Still, $420 for a 3s truck is up there in price 😅. The Maxx is nice, but it jumps and drives like crap. Plus it breaks bulkheads all the time. And it's harder to work on. My experience. I sold mine. The Stampede handles better
I agree with this for sure Max is really fun in a huge area staying on the ground more or less in fact that the most fun I had with it, skate park backyard stuff fooling around stuff this is a better way to go I wish I figured that out before I spent all that money I've said to myself repeatedly in life
I wish AE would make similar arms for the Truggy.
👀 ……. 2 weeks
just bought one iam enjoying it a lot my first rc was a rustler 2wd big upgrade
Thanks for sharing. Your the first person that has mentioned that the motor is a delta wound motor. I had no idea that RC motors come in both Delta and Wye configuration. Just like a full size 3Ø motor. Thanks for this awesome video. 👍
Lol! I been around the hobby for a minute. Im pretty sure most windings are wye nowadays they are more efficient. But yeah Neu offered the deltas as well to get different kv. Some say the deltas are a little smoother on bottom end and have a little more torque. All i know is that they all haul ass!
Thanks for the information. I find it interesting and very educational. As for fake stuff it's a gamble because often times the small differences create big headaches. @@SuperFastRc
Absolutely, at this point i would suspect any new castle ccneu type motor would be a fake - castle hasn’t made that design in years.
How piston go in cylinder in arrow ? Must be up or down ?
Its possible to bind or calibrate this radio with a VXL3S ESC??
You know it’s not easy! You cannot use shr or ssr you must use normal mode.
